Te Arikinui -Pullman Auckland Airport

Auckland, New Zealand

Working closely with architects Warren and Mahoney, Space Studio created the interiors for Te Arikinui Pullman’s signature restaurant and executive lounge – named Te Kaahu, and 311 rooms, including suites, king and twin rooms.

Tainui, the iwi of this region, determined that the hotel would be named after The Maori Queen –Te Arikinui Dame Te Atairangikaahu. Working closely with the Tainui master carver a series of carved designs were received and then integrated into the fit-out. The triangular detailed pattern of the Tainui iwi (tribe), referred to as niho taniwha is woven through the design of the fit-out – minibar elements and desk panels creating an integrated touchpoint for the guest.
